my rank is 172 in general and 23 in open(male) category in psychology.Do i have any chamces?

Hi, considering that you are referring to BHU UET Entrance exam of B.A hons social sciences, I would like to inform you that last year, the cut off marks for regular seats was 193 marks and for paid seats was 185 marks. It would be difficult to predict the rank as cutoffs change every year depending on no. of seats avaialble, no. of applicants seeking admission and appearing for the entrance exam, difficulty level on the entrance paper and the subsequent result. so if you have scored marks around 200 then you'll easily get admission to the course in the main campus.

Note that if you do not get Psychology as a hons subject , hons subject can later be switched or changed before final year also if you get it as an acillary it can be made into a core subject in the 2nd year.
