With your mentioned rank it is highly unlikely for you to get into NITs. You could still apply for the josaa counselling process and try your luck. But I would suggest you to try for state level engineering colleges which accept JEE main scores. You could get good colleges and your desired branch. Since you have told that your rank is 138865 in the common rank list,there is a very less probability that you would be getting an admission into good institutes like NITs.But because you have home state quota,you can just give a try for it.And frankly speaking as per as the previous year statistics you can make into IIITs but you  will be getting into a less prefered college or less prefered branch.
