My son got 262 marks in IIT Advanced 2019 as per official key. Pl let me know the choices, can apply in Jossa, if we are from southern part.
Hello sir,
262 is an excellent mark in JEE ADVANCED. He scored more than 72%. He might be getting a rank below 1000. Of course, for both NITs and IITs he will have to apply through Josaa itself. If he compromises on the branch, he will surely get into the top3 IITs. Please make sure to predict the rank using Careers360 rank predictor through the link attached.

Hello,
Yes, you can apply for JoSAA. JoSAA is the authority that conducts counselling process for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Advanced score is considered only for admission to IITs. For JoSAA, a separate rank list is considered which is prepared by the JoSAA based on JEE score by incorporating only the candidates who registered for JoSAA. And the allotment of seats occur based on this rank list.
There is category-wise JoSAA rank list except for General category. The admission proceeds through several rounds of seat allotment. As your AIR is 389, you have chances to get into top institutes.
For JEE Advanced cut-off you can visit https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced . There should be minimum of 10% in subjects separately as well as 35% altogether. Please also go through the previous year cut-off of JoSAA available at https://josaa.nic.in/webinfocms/Public/View.aspx?page=71 for detailed information about chances in IITs.
