My son is appearing 12th through cbse with Gujarat domicile state. How much percentage of quota available in other state engineering seat.
Dear Sukesh,
I assume that you you want to know about reservation in all colleges in Gujarat. So let me tell you that if your son is domicile of Gujarat, he is not eligible for engineering seats in Governemnt colleges in other states, as most of the states offer 100% seats to their own domiciled students only. However, in private institutions this rule is not applicable. For example, if your son appears in JEE Main 2018, then he is eligible for 15% reserved seats (for All India Quota/other state candidates) in private and self financed institutions in the state of Maharashtra on the basis of his JEE Main 2018 scores. Similarly, in West Bengal, 10% seats in private institions will be offered to candidates from other states or All India, but such candidates have to appear in WBJEE 2018.
However, if your son appears in JEE Main 2018, qualifies it, then he is eligible for 50% (reserved seats or home quota) for Gujarat state domiciled candidates at NITs/IIITs and CFTIs in the state of Gujarat and 50% seats across all NITs/IIITs/CFTIs which are reserved for other states/All India Quota. If he qualifies JEE Main 2018 to appear in JEE Advanced 2018, then he will be eligible for admission to IITs across India where there is no such reservation on the basis of domicile and seats are offered based on All India Quota.
the quota for engineering seats across the different government colleges is 100%
It depends on how you score in your CBSE exam.
