Myself Arfiya, First my goal was to be an IT Engineer. But because I am a girl , I am restricted to do long courses. My another goal was to do MBA. But now I am in 11 Sci PCM . So I would like to know what should I do?
Dear Student,
Time taken to be an Engineer : 10 + 2 + 4 = 16 Years
Time it take to get an MBA degree = 10 + 2 + 3 +2 = 17 Years*
(* MBA – 2 years and if you do a 1 year program it will be also 16 years)
So the actual difference is just a year but what is more important is to understand what your talents are, so that the program you do exploits your talent. Remember, the profession does not guarantee you any success in your career, but your inherent talent will take you far.
Now at a young age it may not be easy to really understand what you are really good at or what personality type you belong to and how to fit the two together (talent/personality) and forge it into a proper career. We suggest that you do the Myers Briggs Personality Test as the first step in understanding. Next is to read about the various types of professions and then we suggest you see a career counselor, who can take you to the next level. You still have a year to decide but do the leg work now to avoid any confusion at the last minute.
Good Luck
See MBA course that you're talking about is not an undergraduate programme. You'll Ofcourse need to go through certain graduation program and then only you can pursue MBA after cracking an entrance exam like CAT and it's a post graduate programme. As you're Science PCM, you can maybe go for BTECH course first and then MBA if you want to OR else you need a short course than BSC is another option as well.
Best wishes. Thank you.
Dear Aspirant,
First thing first, You must focus on your academics and study for at least 3-4 hours. Make sure you understand the basics of all the chapters, in case school is not enough then you can search for online, there is a lot of content available. Then once you are in your 12th you must start to prepare for the JEE exam.
It is a test on the basis of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in your 11th and 12th science.
It is conducted in two phases one is JEE Main. The exam is of 300 marks with 25 questions from each section making 100 marks per section. Students who have cleared the cutoff ( 40-80 marks depending upon the category) are eligible for the admission process in the NITs, GFTIs and the second phase of the exam, JEE ADVANCED.
Advanced is the exam for admission exclusively to the IITs, and the pattern of the advanced is tentative but it is based on the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
To prepare for the exam you must follow these simple steps:-
1. Check out the syllabus and structure your preparation, made a plan on how you're going to cover the syllabus.
The best thing to help you in this is coaching material from some good institute. They have their material prepared according to the need of the Exam.
2. When the plan is ready, make a schedule. Remember timetable matters a lot for this one year. Be ready to give at least 6 hours per day for the preparation.
3. Solve the questions from question banks and previous year JEE papers.
4. Repeat these steps. Follow --> Learn --> practice.
5. Also keep on revising the stuff every third week. It is also a very crucial step in your preparation.
Through JEE you will get to fulfill your dream of becoming the IT engineer. Focus on this first.
Thank you.
