It is important to clarify a key distinction: while the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti ( NVS ) conducts entrance exams for admission into its own schools (JNVs), the NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) is a separate central scholarship scheme. In fact, students studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) or any residential schools are not eligible for the NMMS scholarship, as the scheme is specifically designed for students in government and government-aided day schools.
