Hi Vishwanath, As per your query about the bridge course, which is meant for practioner other than allotpathy to practice allopath, i would say it is in initial stage as of now, some universities have come with a option of bridge cpurse for 300 hrs, but it is not yet cleared abput the authenticity...
I would recommend to wait and watch for some day, rather than taking any decision in haste
Regarding the opportunity after this, i think it will increase manyfold, if govt start giving posting of such doctors in govt setup....
Hopefully it helps

Hey Viswanath,
It is interesting that you are considering studying Pharmacology after Homeopathy rather than continuing with Homeopathy itself which most students tend to do. Rest assured, these two streams overlap in significant ways and the chances of a good future are high.
Now with regard to your questions, please find the answers below:
1. Is S inghania U niversity good for th e Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology?
A. Singhania University, located in Jhujhunu, Rajasthan, is a UGC recognized University which has been in operation since 2007. Given that it has only been in operation for 10 years and has yet to ‘achieve’ a substantial result in terms of placements or alumni performance, the quality of the course offered by it can at best be considered average. Also, note that the Modern Pharmacology course is only a Certificate Course which means it may help you embellish your existing qualifications in Homeopathy but it won’t tremendously improve your prospects. If you are serious about pursuing a career in Pharmacology, I would recommend you consider more robust course options such as a MSc.
2. Which medical colleges in Delhi offer similar courses?
A. From the available information, no reputed colleges in Delhi offer any similar courses in Pharmacology with the exception of AIIMS, which has a MSc Course in Pharmacology. Outside Delhi, a good option is Manipal University which also offers a MSc in Pharmacology.
3. What are the prospects for homeopathic doctors who wish to take this course?
A. Pharmacologists are taught to work on researching the reactions of chemical compounds and substances so as to devise new medications. Their job duties include planning and directing studies, standardizing drug doses, preparing research grants, and following safety procedures.
Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice in which extremely dilute, "potentized” amounts of certain natural substances are used to treat various ailments. It focuses on treating the individual with the transmission of diluted substances mainly in liquid or tablet form. As you can see, there is a major overlap between key principles of both practices, so much so that Homeopathy has even been referred to as Nano-pharmacology in some circles. Pharmaceutical companies often hire BHMS graduates for drug formulation, consultation and drug safety. One can join leading R&D positions at leading research institutes like National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata. Also recently, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has decided to start a one-year part-time course in Modern Pharmacology for Homeopathy doctors which indicates how seriously Government medical institutes are also beginning to consider this combination. As such, the chances are good but be sure to opt for a good course combination.
I hope this answer was useful. All the best!
