The NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) in Uttar Pradesh is a central scholarship for Class 8 students studying in government, government-aided, or local body schools. The aim of the scheme is to support students from financially weak families so they can continue their studies up to Class 12.
Main eligibility:

The annual family income must be below Rs. 3,50,000 .

The student must be studying in Class 8 in a government or aided school.

The student must score at least 55% marks in Class 7 (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
Students of KVS, NVS, and private or residential schools are not eligible .
Students have to clear the MAT and SAT tests conducted by the state.
Scholarship amount:

Selected students get Rs . 12,000 per year from Class 9 to Class 12.
How to apply:

Applications are submitted online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) .

Students must fill the form and get it verified by the school and district nodal officer.

After selection, the scholarship amount is sent directly to the student’s bank account.
