JEE Main 2020 will be conducted by NTA twice in the month of January and April for admissions into B.E, B.Tech and B.Arch offered by IIITs, NITs, GFTIs and SFTIs across India. It is held in two papers – Paper 1 is for B.Tech/B.E and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning.

The application form for JEE Main 2020 will be made available only in online mode in the month of September 2019.

Candidates willing to appear in JEE Main 2020 must check the eligibility criteria laid down by NTA. Candidature of ineligible candidates will be rejected without any notice. The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

Age criteria

• Candidates must be more than 17 years and less than 25 years of age as on October 1, 2020.
• General candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1995 and SC, ST and PWD category must be born on or after October 1, 1989.

Qualification Criteria:

• Candidates must have cleared or appearing in standard 12 th or equivalent examination with at least 5 subjects.
• For B.E/B.Tech – Physics, Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology is mandatory.
• For B.Arch/B.Planning – Mathematics with at least 50% in aggregate of 5 subjects.

Year of Passing

• Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam in 2018, 2019 or will be passing in 2020 are only eligible to appear for JEE Main 2020.

Number of Attempts

• Applicants can appear for JEE Main a maximum of 3 times that too in consecutive years. Attempting both sessions in the same year will be counted as one.

• No weightage will be given to class XII scores while preparing the merit list of JEE Main.
• However, candidate must score more than 75% marks in class XII or should be in top 20 percentile of their respective board examination .
