As per eligibility criteria published by NTA authorities, there no mention that gap year year students can't sit in the exam. The one criterion that you need to meet is passed the qualifying exam in 2017 or 2018, or appearing in qualifying exam in 2019.
Please note you need minimum 75% marks (65% in case of SC, ST and PwD candidates) or ranked inside the top 20 percentile in your board to be eligible for admission at NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
