On what basis do nit and iit will select the students? (i.e. On percentile or marks)

JEE Main 2019 exam is being conducted twice a year for the first time and ranks will be based on the NTA percentile score.
Since the exam was conducted in multiple shifts therefore the raw marks scored by the candidate have been converted into the percentile score using the normalization process.

Result of the JEE Main January exam has been declared and the result of the April exam will be released using the same process.
Cutoff will be released along with the result of the JEE Main April exam. Candidates will be eligible for JEE Advanced on the basis of cutoff released.
