On which basis Jee mains mains rank decides

Hello prince ,
As we all know NTA overtake CBSE for jee main and as per NTA rule merit list will be based on percentile scores and not on marks obtained by student in the exam.
on the other hand the percentile score of each session will be based on the performance of students in that particular shift.
