Ouat 2018 weight age calculation is 25% from class 12 and 25%from class x & 50% from entrance exam but it is multiply with ouat marks why??

Hello,
The concerned authorities decdice the selection criteria and the weightage. Weighted score of the candidate is calculated on the basis of his/her academic career and Entrance Examination.
25% - H.S.C. / equivalent
25%- +2 Sc. / equivalent-25%
Entrance Examination-50%
