G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (  GBPUA&T  ), also known as  Pantnagar University  , is the first agricultural university of India  . It was inaugurated by Jawahar Lal Nehru  Jawahar_Lal_Nehru) on 17 November 1960 as the "Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University" (UPAU). Later the name was changed to "Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology" in 1972 in memory of the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh  , statesman and Bharat Ratna recipient Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant  .  The University was declared as the best among all the other State Universities in India, in 1997.

The University lies in the campus-town of Pantnagar in the district of Udham Singh Nagar / RudraPur  in the state of Uttarakhand  .

The campus is situated near Pant Nagar Airport and transport facility is not a big problem.

Personal Experience:

My brother is a graduate of Technology from the Pant Nagar University, and according to him the college has a great blend of Agriculture and Technology in its curriculum , the student life is one of its kind and you gonna enjoy it.

But the unofficial raging culture sometimes turns out to be frustrating for some students, but by the time you reach your 2nd semester all your  seniors become your most supportive mentors in the campus and will help you in every single problem both personnel and professional , so get ready experience  one of the best journey of your  life .
