Pgcet2019kar cse paper had a lot of questions from s/w Eng which was not part of the syllabus. What is going to happen to the result now?

Hi Ashwini,
See it is not very often that exams that big just throw away questions from vague topics. Sometimes they are kept to bring a standard to the paper and skim away the students who have gone out of there way to prepare for the exam. Still, it would be somehow related to the syllabus as there is no way they will intentionally do that. If it was really that difficult we will definitely see a dip in the cutoff.

Yes it is usual to have 2 or 3 out of syllabus questions. But this time majority of the questions were from software engineering subject which was not part of the syllabus. The question paper had only 8 or 9 questions from syllabus. That's what surprised me.
