I would advise you to take tuitions for CAT from the 3rd or 4th year but it actually depends whether you can tackle both engineerig and CAT preparation at the same time or not. If you feel that you are unable to cope up with both, then you can complete your engineering degree first and then take a year gap to prepare for CAT if you want to get into top institutions.
