Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) conducted Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for class 6 and 9 admissions, every year.

for class 9th and 6th the application is on online mode and the shortlisted candidate are required to do this after shortlisted-

• After the declaration of JNVST Class 6th or class 9th result, selected students have to submit a filled application form along with the required documents to the school principal.
• While filling the form, they have to paste a recent passport-sized photograph.
• After the documents are verified, the school will release a list of students whose admissions are finally confirmed, consisting of their names, categories, and dates of birth.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is a system of alternate schools for talented students predominantly from rural area in India. JNVs selection test is for two-hour duration, there are 80 questions in all for 100 marks have 3 sections, Mental ability, Arithmetic section and language test which are of objective type only with no negative marking. Every year more than lacs of students give JNVST to get qualified for admissions into class 6 and 9 of JNV schools of India. A candidate who is seeking admission must be between the age group of 13-16 years on 1st May of the year of admission for which the selection test is conducted. This is applicable to all categories of candidates who belong to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. 75 % of the seats are filled by candidate from rural areas and 1-3rd of the seats are reserved for girl students.
