The top NITs as per NIRF 2024 are NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Rourkela, NIT Warangal and NIT Calicut. Popular BTech courses include CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Chemical. For example, last year the closing rank for CSE was around 1100 at NIT Trichy, 300–600 at NIT Surathkal, 380–500 at NIT Warangal and about 2000 at NIT Rourkela. Other branches usually have higher closing ranks, making them easier to secure with moderate ranks.
