Please tell me in brief about seat in nit.which rank is considered first to allocate seat (crl and category)

For admission in NITs you have to give JEE-MAINS conducted twice a year, first in the month of Jan and next in April. Results are declared at the end of every month, however, you could only give the exam total 3 attempts. JEE- MAIN is an exam of 360 marks consisting of 90 questions each carrying equal weigtage of 4 marks.
To clear the exam you have to clear the minimum cutoff decided every year in accordance with the difficulty level of the exam. According to past year trends following are the cutoff marks.
- GENERAL 100 marks
- OBC-NCl 70 marks
- SC 50 marks
- ST 40 marks
To get into an NIT however you need to score at least twice the cutoff marks for your respective category. In the month of June, the NTA(National Testing Agency) will release the rank card and if you've clear the cutoff you could fill in the JOSAA counseling, in which you could apply for all the NITs along with the branches of your preference. Counseling will be in 4 phases and after each phases' end, a college would be allotted according to your rank. You could fill in for the next round if you're not satisfied with the college allotted in the current round.
