you can apply for JEE main.
the eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE main is only to passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018. Also, candidates appearing for class 12 board examination in 2019 will be also eligible for JEE Main 2019.
and Subjects to be Qualified in Qualifying Examination: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject

After polytechnic you cannot write JEE main.
Only the students who have completed their intermediate can attempt the exam.
I request you to join b.tech in any institute or University through lateral entry and give gate exam and then you can do your m.tech in IITs or nits .

Yes, you can apply to the JEE Mains.
But, you won't get admission to NITs or CFTIs based on your JEE Mains. Even your score card will not be released.
There're no lateral entry admissions in IITs and NITs. There's a separate exam for lateral entry.

Yes, you can give the exam. The procedure is same as 12th passed students but buddy you have to do more hardwork because you have studied only one main subject. You can also get admission through lateral entry in some college and can appear for gate to get admission in IITs or NITs.
