Hello,
There are different categories for engineering colleges like IITs, Government colleges and private colleges. So to get into any engineering colleges first you need to be eligible to give their exams.
The most important exam is JEE mains whose marks are accepted by all colleges. So to give this exam firstly you need to clear your 10+2 exams with minimum 75% and for SC/ST the minimum marks is 65%.
Every year JEE main exams are held and to clear that exam you need to be prepared well because every year different cutoff are set by different colleges to be eligible to get admission.
But by any chance you are not able to clear the cutoff you can go for different private college which conduct their own exams and you can score well there and get admission there.
So you should really prepared well if you really want to get into good colleges.
Hope this will help you if any more queries you have you can comment here.

Along with this, you need to appear for engineering entrance examinations and qualify them in order to get a seat in respective college. There are various entrance exams that you can appear for, like JEE, BITSAT, WBJEE, MHTCET,etc., but all of these exams have their own eligibility criteria (like domicile, age, etc.).
