There is only 1 private veterinary college in bangalore, wgichvis veterinary college, bangalore.The Veterinary College, Bangalore was established on 25 July 1958 affiliated with Mysore University. The college started in a temporary shed located in the then Mysore Serum Institute, now called the Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals, Hebbal.

There are 19 departments in the college which has the following facilities:

A model dairy farm

A poultry unit

A piggery unit

A sheep unit

A post mortem block

An experimental animal house

A veterinary hospital at Hebbal with evening clinic

A rural veterinary hospital at Yelahanka.
