RBI Officer Vs IPS officer ? which is better in terms of all things ?
Hello,
Both the posts you have mentioned are recruited through two of the most coveted government exams, UPSC is perhaps more popular comparatively to RBI Grade B Officer, the former caters to more of administrative sections with diverse opportunities for IAS while for other posts such as IPS, IRS etc it's different, RBI Grade B Officer is the best post in terms of banking career in government sector, this exam is very tough especially those who come from non-finance background may find the second stage highly tough, the pattern of the first stage is very similar to any other banking exam, the level of questions are very high, and comparatively this has grown over the past few years. for UPSC anyone with Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university are allowed with no specific aggregate, while this doesn't happen in case of RBI Grade B Officer where 60% aggregate is mandatory in 10th, 12th, and graduation, for any banking aspirant this is the top position. While the preference is individual, the question of a career or a job being best is more of subjective matter, it's also important what to look into the pattern of the exam what suits you more, if you have interest knowing about banking, business, finance, management then go for RBI, while on the other hand if you have fascination for humanities stream subjects and most importantly if you enjoy it, you want to know all the aspects of the country with interest towards history, geography, economics, polity, administration, sociology etc you may choose UPSC.
