recreation facilities in Indian military academy

Yes there will be recreational or engagement activities during course period at IMA. There are games like basketball, polo, athletics, football, aquatics (swimming, diving and water-polo),volleyball, hockey, boxing and cross-country. In addition to this ,a sports meet is held every term /once a year in which teams of National Defence Academy, Officers Training Academies at Chennai and Gaya, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy and Naval Academy participate. The Academy has the following indoor and outdoor clubs such as Journalism, arts, music and drama, computer application, GIS and electronics and under sports category there will be Golf, squash, tennis, riding and polo, shooting, archery, gymnastics, and cycling and cycle polo an more. GCs can join the club of their choice.

For outdoor activities driving & maintenance, gardening, aero-modelling, scuba diving, mountaineering and rock climbing, swimming and extra PT session are given for people weak in these. Likewise there are adventure training breaks where all Gentlemen Cadets of 1st and 2nd terms proceed on training hikes to various destinations of cultural, historical and military importance.These adventure activities includes trekking, cycling, rock climbing, water sports, paragliding etc.Local multi-activity hikes include white water rafting, parasailing, and cycle expeditions are organized for GCs who stay back in the Academy. For entertainment , movies are screened thrice a week for GCs where English movies on Wednesdays and Hindi movies on Saturdays and Sundays at the IMA Auditorium.Each Company in IMA is having a well furnished Ante Room for GC to socialise/interact in off parade hours. The Ante rooms have a good ambience and state of art facilities for entertainment to include Home Theatre system, Billiards Table, Table Tennis, a mini library etc.Visit their official website to know more .
