Correct Answer: 3938
Solution :
Imports in 2012 = Rs. 600 crore
Let the exports in 2012 = Rs. $y$ crore
The ratio of imports and exports in 2012 = 1.3
⇒ $\frac{600}{y} = 1.3$
⇒ $y=\frac{600}{1.3} = 461.53$
Total exports In the years 2012 and 2013 together = Rs. 4400 crore
Exports in 2013 = Rs. (4400 – 461.53) crores = Rs. 3938.47 crore
Let imports in 2013 = Rs. $x$ crore
The ratio of imports and exports in 2013 = 1
⇒ $\frac{x}{3938.47} = 1$
⇒ $x$ = 3938.47 $\approx$ 3938
Hence, the correct answer is 3938.
