The questions of past years are definitely a help for the 12th standard board examination. But it is also important to go through the text books. The text books would clear your concepts. And of course as you know the pattern of examination have been changing it will help you to attempt new questions. Bit definitely go through the previous years' papers since some questions tend to come repeatedly.

hi,
see its not wise to study only the last 5 years question , you need to study at least 50% of the syllabus to get atleast pass marks, if you are from science stream, every chapters has some linkage with others, now try to cover at least the important chapters from which most of the questions asked in previous.
