Should I choose nit metallurgy or any state gov college ece

See whatever interests you should be the choice.
Rather than that metallurgy is a developing field and also differentiates you from the other common fields.
Also, NITs are next to IITs and hold somewhat prestige.
But if you are more aligned towards ECE then you should go for it. Completely interest based choice should be taken as you have to spend if not the whole life but at least the 4 years with it.
