Hope you are doing well.
This year, GATE candidates are allowed to choose two papers in the GATE examination. TWO Paper combinations have to be chosen from the given list of combinations of papers. Final allotment of TWO papers will still be subject to availability of infrastructure and dates.
If you only want to concentrate on only one paper and appear it, it is absolutely fine. As long as you qualify in that paper then you can start applying for M.Tech admissions to various colleges.
