Should we persue M Tech from NIT?

M.Tech from IIT gives you better job opportunity then M.Tech from NIT. (I am a B.Tech from NIT and M.Tech from IIT). But still, job opportunities after M.Tech even from IIT is not that substantial. In our country, we have very less demand for specialists, so fewer job opportunities after M.Tech (except in certain specific specializations like VLSI, Chip Design,etc.)

If you are interested in teaching and research, M.Tech alone won't suffice. Be prepared to go on with Ph.D.

So, if you want Govt Job, get in NIT and keep on preparing for GATE or other govt. competitive exams as there’s a high chance that you won't get time to prepare anything else during M.Tech in IIT.
