It is not necessary to take a color printout but for a safe side, you can take the colored one only as it hardly cost rs 2-3 more. If you have black and white then don't worry you have your original id and photograph which will act as a id proof.

Well,its not necessary to get the colour xerox only,you can carry black and white too but i would suggest to carry both color and black and white to stay away from any tension.
