sir how josaa counselling happens and what fees they take..
Hi aspirant,
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the conducting body of counselling for admission into 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 GFTIs. It is conducted every year in seven rounds and lasts for almost one and half months. It takes place through the following procedure:
- Registration
- Choice Filling & Locking
- Seat Allotment Process
- Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance
After a candidate has paid the seat acceptance fee he/she has to report to the nearest reporting centre for document verification and their he/she has the following three options:
- Float.... a candidate can chose this option if he/she wants to keep the allocated seat but want to participate in further rounds of Counselling to get better preferences.
- Slide...........A candidate can chose this option if he/she wants to keep the allocated seat but if a better preference is available in further subsequent rounds within the same Institute then he/she will accept it.
- Freeze..........A candidate has to select this option if he/she is satisfied with the seat allocated and Don't want to participate in subsequent rounds of Counselling.
After this the candidate has to report to the respective allocated college for final admission. Hope it helps you.
