Dear Richard ,
Quite happy to know that you are interested in pursuing a career in law and will be appearing for CLAT. Further, your question speaks that you are quite eager to qualify CLAT this year. Good to know this as well.
Coming to your question, let me share with you that CLAT 2018 is scheduled to be held on May 13 and yes you have exactly five months time to prepare for the entrance exam. The applications will begin on January 1.
I hope you have already begun your basic preparation for CLAT. Once you have catch a hold of the basics, the next prep phase will become much easier. You will need to prepare a study time table for every subject including English and Legal Aptitude. Moreover, you have to read a newspaper daily and a weekly magazine to keep a track of updates for handling questions from Current Affairs and memorise the static GK topics. Further, practice as much questions on a daily basis for Maths and Reasoning sections. Practicing questions will help you in taking less time for attempting a question.
While you do all these, take at least two weekly online mock tests from now to evaluate your preparation level and know your weak areas. It'll help you in improving on those areas.
