If you wrongly declared your caste as BCA instead of BCD while registering keep in mind that this must be corrected at the earliest possibility. During the counselling process, at the time of document verification if any inconsistencies appear between your declaration or documents and your official caste certificate, it can create issues or may even disqualify you from reservation benefits. Here’s what you can do:
- Immediately reach the counselling authority through their helpline or email explaining the error.
- Request for the relevant correction window, but many counselling portals do allow you a chance to correct errors.
- If there is no correction option online, during document verification tell the verification officer about the error and show them your correct caste certificate (BCD) as they may be able to amend your record manually.
