As you ask is you are eligible for apply gate exam so as mentioned that you are in 6 semester of BTech as per eligibility criteria candidate are eligible to apply for seat in GATE exam in their final year or when they already completed their graduation
so you have to wait for the final year..

No,you can't apply for GATE 2020 EXAMINATION as only passed Graduate or appearing Graduate can fill appear in GATE 2020.
