Hello,
As the JEE Mains are held twice a year, a new eligibility criteria has been set in which allows students to give the exam two times a year in three consecutive years from the year of passing their class 12 exam. That makes the total number of attempts for JEE Mains= 2*3=6. If you drop a year AFTER YOUR CLASS 12, then you will be able to attempt 4 times, and advanced 2 times.
But since you are class 10 passout, you are not eligible now.

Hii
One can only attempt two time jee advanced. This two chances are during the fresher as pursuing 10+2 and other the very next year. Even if you leave any of attempt during this two period, your further attempts will be invalid.
For example if you passed 10+2 in 2020 march, you are eligible for jee advanced in may 2020(postponed due to covid 19 ) and may 2021 jee advanced. Even if you didn't attempt first chance, you will only be left with one attempt.
Hope it helps
