Sir I have completed msc in biochemistry and applied for emrs pgt biology because biochemistry is a branch of lifescience. My question is whether botany and zoology should be studied in all the three years of bsc for this post or in any years as I had not taken botany in last years of bsc.
Dear Student,
NO, you DON’T need botany & zoology in ALL THREE years of BSc. Having them in ANY year(s) (even 1st/2nd/3rd year only) is enough. Your MSc in Biochemistry and BSc in Life Sciences/Biochemistry make you 100% ELIGIBLE for EMRS PGT Biology 2025.
As per EMRS Recruitment 2025.
Essential Qualification:
- Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in Botany / Zoology / Life Sciences / Bio Sciences / Genetics / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Bio / Plant Physiology.
- BEd or equivalent degree.
- A bachelor’s degree with botany/zoology/life sciences only needs to have these subjects (NO mention of “all three years” being compulsory).
All the best for your exam
