Preparatory rnaks are allotted for studnets who havent qualifying in IIT for regular asmissions.
Yiu shall be allotted Preparatory course which is residential and where IIT will train you at end of year to clear JEE advanced.
Based on jee advanced 2019 you can then clear regular 4year admissiin into IIT.
As of now you can be admitted into IITs for preparatory courses.
