Hello aspirant,
I hope that you are doing absolutely great.
With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that it doesn't matter how much gap years you tale before or after class 12th. The mains thing matters is how many attempts you give on JEE mains paper.
As for your question if you have taken one year gap after class 10th then you still have full eligibility criteria for giving JEE mains and advance exam , i.e., you have full 3 attempts to give JEE mains and 2 years to give JEE advance.
further, the eligibility criteria for JEE mains is given a follows :
Qualifying exam -
-
Students should have passed the 12th class or qualifying the exam in 2020 or 2021.
-
Candidates appearing in 12th class or equivalent qualifying exams in 2022 can also apply.
Age Limit - No age limit to appear for JEE Main 2022 exam. Any student who has passed the 12th class or its equivalent exam in the year 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 can apply for the entrance exam.
Total number of attempts - Students can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years. The entrance test will be conducted four times a year.

I hope that this will help.
Hi
It doesn't matter even if you have 1 year gap after 10th.
This is because,
Your jee main eligibility is counted from the year of appearing for 12th board examination.
Coming to number of attempts
One can give 12 attempts of jee main over 3 consecutive years starting from the year of appearing 12th board examination.
Let's us see it in detail :-
One can give JEE Mains entrance examination for a maximum of 3 consecutive years starting from the year of passing 12th board examination.
Now,
JEE Main entrance examination is conducted 4 times a year i.e
--------------) 1st session usually in February
--------------) 2nd session usually in March
--------------) 3rd session usually in April
--------------) 4th session usually in May .
Out of these 4 attempts in a year, the one in which you get the best score is considered for admission process.
So, the maximum number of attempts for jee mains entrance examination
= 4 times x 3 years
= 12 attempts in total
So, one has a total of 12 attempts over 3 consecutive years starting from the year of passing your 12th board examination .
For example,
If your 12th board examination appearing year is 2022
then you are eligible for :-
-
all the four sessions of JEE mains 2022
-
all the four sessions of JEE main 2023
-
and all the four sessions of jee main 2024

If I tell you about jee advanced then,
One has a total of two attempts for JEE advanced over two consecutive years starting from the year of appearing for 12th board examination i. e as per , eligibility criteria one is eligible for JEE advanced examination only in the year in which he or she appears for 12th board examination and the next year following it.
For example,
If one gives 12th board in 2022 then
He is eligible for
-
jee advanced 2022
-
jee advanced 2023
