I want to ask that I have heard that seats have already not fully filled in all colleges in BAMS in gujarat so why they are putting this much of penalty .
I agree that students were not allowed to waste seats like this but I thought penalty must be low not likely to pay whole course fees
I too had BDS in my 1st attempt and then I also had to prepare for NEET along side with BDS .
Hi Irfan
Yes, you can take admission in MBBS in 2018 if get enough marks in NEET to get any college.
Here are the way how you can start studying smartly for NEET
- Introspect yourself :- make a checklist that what you know already and what you have to know for the NEET. Go through the syllabus once and check your level, that from where you have to start.
- Plan the Journey :- After Introspecting, Start from the very basic and plan out the journey for the whole syllabus a set some deadline for yourself so that you can progress in a pre defined manner.
- Never Give Up :- It is the golden rule to achieve the goal. Build up yourself and your confidence not to give up even in the hardest situation. It's is possible for you to get admission in MBBS, after joining BAMS.
Goodluck.
Dear Irfan,
Ok this is going to be slightly long answer but I would advise you read till the end because of the many factors involved. Besides, it is all positive only so don't worry too much about your situation.
Going by your question, I am assuming you are a domicile of Maharashtra, as only the Maharashtra prospectus clearly has a rule stating that any candidate who has been allotted a seat in any course under MUHS Nashik (the affiliating body for medical colleges in Maharashtra) in previous years and who vacates/abandons it after availing the said seat will not be eligible for admission for the next two years under state quota.
One major point you should note here is that from 2018 onwards, private/state-level examinations will no longer be conducted to fill seats in any of the AYUSH colleges, and all admissions to BAMS courses will be through NEET only. This means that the NEET seat quota rules will also become uniformly applicable for BAMS courses, allowing you to appear for 15% All India Quota seats in Government Ayurveda colleges across the country. Therefore, through NEET 2018, you will definitely eligible to apply for Ayurveda colleges in other states if not in Maharashtra. Also, private Ayurveda colleges in many states will also take outside candidates so that is another option as well.
Now if you do not wish to take admissions in a BAMS course, but vacate your current BAMS seat to join a MBBS/BDS course, the same NEET rules apply. While you may be ineligible for Maharashtra, clearing NEET 2018 will definitely make you eligible for 15% All India MBBS/BDS seats, all MBBS/BDS seats offered by Deemed and Central Universities and MBBS/BDS seats in private colleges of many states.
Now a major good news for you in this regard is that barely a month ago (October 2017), a candidate from Maharashtra faced the same predicament as you was granted relief by the Bombay High Court. The candidate had taken admission to the BAMS course in Government Ayurveda College Nanded through MHCET but later cleared NEET and wanted to take admission to a MBBS course which was denied to her by this two year rule. The Bombay HC ruled in her favour and said that not considering the candidate for admission on the basis of one clause in the brochure had created an unreasonable restriction on her fundamental right to opportunity. GAC Nanded then cancelled her admission and returned her documents. She was also made eligible to apply for MBBS admissions.
You should note that NEET has only been recently introduced and a lot of rule changes are still taking place. If the Maharashtra Government does not use this case as a precedent to change the two year rule, you can always take the legal route for admissions given that another candidate successfully did so. I am sure you will be able to find a suitable solution and take admission to the preferred course and college of your choice in the future through NEET 2018.
