To perform well in GATE, do the following things:

• Start early. This way you will have enough time to touch all relevant topics.
• Get familiar with the syllabus. Even before you start your preparation, go through the entire syllabus and see what is in there. It will give you a clear idea about what your preparation strategy should be.
• Make a realistic study plan.
• Make notes during study. It will help you concentrate more and also enable you to capture all important points in once place. So when you need to do revision, you may simply glance through the notes indtead of reading the whole book.
