HEY THERE!!!
You can settle the difference in your father's name (surname appearing in your degree but not in his documents) by making an affidavit. This is how you can do it:
- Prepare an Affidavit: Legibly write down both forms of your father's name (with and without surname), state they both belong to the same individual, and provide the reason for the variation. You can place your 10th or 12th marksheet on record as the reference for the correct name.
- Supporting Documents: Accompany copies of your father's ID proofs (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) and your own marksheets indicating the various versions of the name.
- Get the Affidavit Notarized: Sign the affidavit on the appropriate stamp paper (typically INR 10 or INR 100, depending on your state) and have it notarized by a notary public.
- Use the Affidavit: Present this affidavit with your documents wherever clarification is required. The majority of institutions and government authorities accept this as valid evidence of name consistency.
- If required, you may also publish a notice in the official gazette for additional legal authority, but the affidavit will generally suffice in most verification procedures.
