Sir, is there any chance of getting into IIT for a SC candidate with marks around 30 in biotechnology??anyone reply plzzz
Dear Student,
Thanks for writing to us. We will try our level best to answer your queries. First please tell us you want admission in Btech/ Mtech or something else. Neither it will not be possible to justify your answer properly. Still, I am discussing the probabilities:-
1. If you are opting for Btech then you need to clear JEE Advance. clear means you have to score at least the cutoff marks which will be around 60 (depends on this year`s question and other determining factors) according to me. So you need to score a bit higher to secure your position of choice.
2. There is almost no chance of decreasing the cutoff marks. If it happens the following factors will be responsible---> Seat availability, the difficulty level of examination, previous year's cutoff, number of students applying.
3. In 2018, Opening and Closing Rank in IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Jodhpur were from 1164 to 1989, 1372 to 1741, 1761 to 2261 respectably. For more updates click on this https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/iits-cutoff-for-btech-biotechnology
4. If you are opting for Mtech then you need to qualify GATE. This year's expected cutoff for GATE is 18. But to get admission in IIT the probable cutoff will be around 32.
5. IIT's don't offer BSc in Biotechnology.
6. If you want to do MS then you need to clear IIT-JAM. The expected cutoff is 13.34-13.84. Then you can easily get into IIT. Previous years cutoff was around 13. So it easily reachable for you as you said your score to be 30.For more click on this https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-cutoff
Hope you have got your answer and got your concepts clear. If not then don't hesitate to ask in the comment box we will answer all your queries. First of all please make sure which course you are opting for, then progress along that way as I have discussed above.
