Sir /Madam , I'm DEBANJAN My get score is 341 in civil belonging to SC category. Can I get admission in NIT

The GATE cutoff is different for every 24 subjects and also for individual category. GATE Cutoff for SC is different from GATE cutoff of ST and that too for evry subject. Similarly GATE cut off for OBC  is differnt from GATE cut off of  general candidate for every subject. Importantly, the score card of GATE will be issued for only those candidates who score equal to or more than the qualyfying GATE 2019 cut off. The Qualyfying Cut off of GATE 2019 is subject specific, meaning the cut off will be different for differnt subjects.

The seats allocated in M.Tech program is on the basis of following criteria:

• Total application recieved by the program
• Category of the candidate
• Cut off trends of previous years
• Difficulty level of the exam

Only those candidate who qualify in Gate  2019 will be able to participate for admission in NIT, through counselling process conducted through Centralised Counselling for M.Tech, also know as CCMT. Candidates who have qualified for Gate have to register through CCMT which opens in 1st Week of april, so that candidates can aprticipate in centralized counselling.

Having scored 341, it will be hard for you to grab a seat in top NITs, but don't get disheartened because there is still chance for you during second or third round of counselling. i fear you won't be eligible for Civil engineering, but still there is a chance for you to get admission in Remote sensing and geographic information system, which comes under civil enginerring department of NIT Warangal. You can also apply for Industrial metallurgy, in NIT warangal. the cut off for last year in these courses were between 370- 400, but you might have luck if the cut off falls a bit.

Hey Aspirant, you have a considerable score in GATE 2019 for the civil branch but you will be disappointed to know that you have very fewer chances of getting admission in M.tech in any good NIT.

I would suggest you must look for other state government colleges as you may cross the cutoff score for these colleges.
