The certificate that vaidates your that you belong to the economically weaker sections of the society is the EWS certificate. It is issued by the government of india and it ensures reservation for EWS candidates belonging to the general category, in government educational institutes. It is valid for a period of one year from the date when it was issued. This date is generally given on the top of your certificate. The certificate is only valid during that period, not before or after that. You have to present your EWS certificate for verification during counselling
