Sir my 10th cgpa 9.2,diploma 76%, b.e 7.8.I am obc-non creamy layer category.how much percentage in cat exam to get into ion-a,b,c
Based on the details you have provide, the percentiles needed by you will be:
98+ -> IIM A
97.6+ -> IIM B
97.5+ -> IIM C
This are only estimates and should not be taken as sacrosanct.
All the best!
For MBA there is no fixed minimum score required for any student of any category. It varies from college to college. Better the score, better will be your percentile, better will be the chance to get a call from good b-school and better will be the chance of converting your call.
For top IIMs like IIM A, B and C you need to have above 98+ percentile to get a call and above 99+ percentile to increase the probability of your conversion. For other old IIMs like IIM K, L and I you need to have above 95+ percentile and 98+ to increase the probability of your conversion. For new IIMs you need to have 92+ percentile to get a call. For private colleges like FMS and JBIMS Mumbai, you need to have 97+ percentile to get a call and 95+ percentile to convert it. Even for top IITs like IIT Mumbai, IIT Delhi you need to have atleast 95+ percentile.
Remember one more thing that CAT percentile is not alone enough to get a call. Along with this you also need to have a good profile. After the CAT result, all the colleges in which you apply including IIMs makes a merit list to call students for the second round of interview and WSAT which is made on the basis of your aggregate score and which is based on different parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer, gender etc. whose weightage vary according to different colleges.
As you have an average academic profile so you need to aim for a higher percentile in order to ensure your call for the second round and an excellent performance in WAT and interview so as to fix your seat in the college.
All the best!!
In CAT we have percentile and not percentage and to get in these top b-schools you need to have at least 98 percentile.
