There is no basis for such statement that MAT scores will be given less priority. Each institute, which accepts multiple entrance exam scores have specific cutoff for each exam. The cutoff may or may not be different for these exams. Suppose you fulfill the MAT cutoff and not CAT cutoff, the B-School will shortlist you on the basis of MAT percentile since you have met the cutoff score/percentile. If you fulfill all exam cutoffs, then you will be shortlisted by default. If you fail to fulfill the cutoff of any of the exams you are applying through, then you won't be shortlisted anyway.
