Correct Answer: 172
Solution :
Given: In the accounts department, the percentage of females = 10%
Rest are male = 90%
Male = 198
$\frac{90}{100}$ of total employees in account department = 198
Total employees in accounts department = 220
Female = 10% of 220 = 22
In R & D department, percentage of female = 60%
Rest are male = 40%
Male = 100
$\frac{40}{100}$ of total employees in R & D = 100
Total employees in R & D = 250
Female = 60% of 250 = 150
Total females = 22 + 150 = 172
Hence, the correct answer is 172.
