Correct Answer: 10

Solution : Given that the average of the 40 results is 15.
⇒ Average = $\frac{\text{Sum of the values}}{\text{Total number of values}}$
⇒ 15 = $\frac{\text{Sum of the values}}{\text{40}}$
⇒ Original Sum = 15 × 40 = 600
⇒ New Sum = Original Sum – (5 × 40) = 600 – 200 = 400
So, the new Average = $\frac{400}{40}$ = 10
Hence, the correct answer is 10.
