Correct Answer: $96 \pi$
Solution :
The radius of the base of a cylindrical tank, $r$ = 4 m
Let the height of the cylinder be $h$.
According to the question,
Three times the sum of the areas of its two circular faces is twice the area of its curved surface
⇒ $3 \times (\pi r^2 + \pi r^2) = 2 \times 2\pi rh$
⇒ $6\pi r^2 = 4\pi rh$
⇒ $(6 \times \pi \times 4 \times 4) = (4 \times \pi \times 4 \times h)$
⇒ $h = 6$
Now,
Volume of the tank = $\pi r^2h=\pi \times 4 \times 4 \times 6=96\pi$
Hence, the correct answer is $96\pi$.
