How to fill JEE Main Application Form 2026? – Steps to Apply Online
Hello,
If your school has not yet received the CBSE registration number , you should not leave the field blank. In such cases, you can do the following:
Write “Awaited” or “Applied For” in the registration number field (if the form allows text).
If the form accepts only numbers, you can enter “0000000” or a similar dummy number (as per instructions given in the JEE form or your school’s guidance).
Inform your school to give you a short written note or letter stating that your CBSE registration number will be issued after 28th November. You can keep that for reference in case NTA asks later.
Once your school gets the official registration number, it can be updated or verified during the correction window or at the time of document verification.
In short, don’t delay the JEE registration . fill “Awaited” or “Applied For” and proceed.

If your school hasn’t received its CBSE registration number yet and JEE registration closes before that, you should enter “Awaited” or “Not Available” in the registration number field (if the portal allows).
Later, once your school gets the CBSE registration number, you can update it during the correction window of JEE Main. Also, inform your school to provide an official note confirming the pending registration, in case verification is needed.
